Metal Recycling Day was a huge success. Along with our friends at Pacific Steel & Recycling, we recycled over 4,000 lbs. of scrap steel, tin, aluminum & brass… yielding $250.00 that will be going directly to Idaho youth programs.
Be on the look-out next Spring for our next Recycling Day event.
A few examples of items we recycled:
Aluminum spa steps (that’s right spa steps)
Cast iron bathtub (in two ridiculously heavy pieces… see the picture below of us struggling to put it into the container)
Washer and dryer
Refrigerator
Vintage all steel riding lawn mower
Multiple decades old push lawn mowers
Hundreds of Aluminum cans
Steel Pipe
Steel Bars
Patio Furniture
Miscellaneous farm equipment
Multiple barbeques
Chicken wire
Small paper shredder
Steel & Aluminum brackets
Special thanks to Seth & Morgan at Pacific for their knowledge, skill and partnership – to Bill “Action” Jackson & Jackie Jackson for their vision and leadership – and to my wife Virgi for putting this entire event together start to finish.

As you may know, recycling has been the most significant source of fundraising for the John William Jackson Fund – last year over $11,000 was raised from recycling alone and this year we’re already past the $13,000 mark! To expand the effort, the Fund is hosting a METAL RECYCLE DAY in Eagle on Saturday, September 26th in the Albertson’s parking lot, from 8am to 3pm.
