EnviroGuard Award 2009

Monday, October 26th, 2009

On October 21st, the John William Jackson Fund and the Idaho Youth Education Recycling Partnership were granted the City of Boise’s EnviroGuard Pollution Prevention Award.  The event was held at the Boise Watershed, with the award presented by Mayor Dave Bieter.  The award was given to recognize the unique and innovative recycling partnership that has, to-date, generated over $28,000 for Idaho youth programs.

We are honored to be one of the four organizations to be presented with this prestigious award, and give any and all credit to our recycling partners.

We plan to pass around the plaque and banner from the award to all the members of the recycling partnership (IYERP)… So, IYERP Partners – be on the look-out for your turn in showing off your award.

See the pictures below of Seth Brown and Larry O’Conner from Pacific Steel and Recycling, along with Mayor Dave Bieter and Boise City Council President Maryanne Jordan.

Recycling numbers for September ’09

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Our recycling numbers for this year are looking fantastic. We’re on track for another record year eclipsing our huge numbers from last year.

From recycling alone, we’ve raised $3,326.51 in September 2009, compared to $2,408.60 in September 2008 (38% improvement). Year-to-Date that brings us to $16,518.50, compared to $10,576.42 this time last year (56% improvement).

Our total number for 2008 was $11,433.74… we’re already well past that number and closing in on our “hard-to-imagine” goal of $20,000.00.

Thanks to all of our recycling partners in the Idaho Youth Education Recycling Partnership, Pacific Steel & Recycling & our champion Bill “Action” Jackson.
