Congratulations and thanks to Jack's Urban Meeting Place (JUMP) Project led by the Hoffman Construction Project Team for generating $8106.00 from its metal recycling program in 2013. Also, we thank McAlvain Group of Companies, Inland Foundation Specialties and the all the subcontractors for their participation.

Listen up ZAG – Bull Dog Nation: The John William Jackson Fund (Fund) reported earlier this year that Tyson Hendrickson, a Gonzaga University graduate (Class of 2004) was recognized for his "Gift of Life." He unselfishly donated one of his kidneys to an unknown recipient back in February. His action did not go unnoticed. The Fund awarded a $2000 grant to Gonzaga University for a Department of Nursing Scholarship in his honor.

BSU: Scrap Metal Recycling Raises $37,000 for Scholarships

Boise State’s recycling efforts have diverted about 37,000 pounds of mixed metal from the Ada County Landfill and raised $37,500 to support 15 grants for student scholarships at the university. The Idaho Youth Education Recycling Partnership (iYERP) thanks two Boise State University Civil Engineering students from Saudi Arabia for answering our call for help to remove appliances, water heaters, gas heaters, stoves, light fixtures, etc. from two on campus houses which were demolished.

Pictured is Fahad Basalem.  The other student, not pictured, was Jawad Al Mubarak.  They joined the rest of the volunteer crew, Jerry Gibbons, Tyson Hendrickson and “Action” Jackson.  Fahad got some useful on-the job supervisory and safe work practices experience.
