Volunteers – we need you!

January 22nd, 2011

The John William Jackson Fund has experienced rapid growth in terms of grant awards and its commitment to funding programs and projects benefiting Idaho youth.  The Idaho Youth Education Recycling Partnership (IYERP) was formed as an independent business venture committed to metal recycling and advancing environmental stewardship in Idaho.  This growth has resulted in the need to add additional volunteer officer positions to sustain the anticipated growth.

The Fund is looking for experienced individuals who are looking for unique community volunteer opportunities.  Interested and experienced individuals should have excellent writing, computer and interpersonal skills for the below opportunities.

To arrange an interview, candidates should contact the Fund (info@johnwilliamjacksonfund.org) and outline their interest and experience.

  • Vice President – Fund Raising
    • Responsible for generating additional revenue for JWJF programs and projects; identifying, developing, implementing and coordinating strategies to secure and maintain high individual donation levels and organizing unique fund raising events.
  • Vice President – Communication

Recycling – December 2010

January 5th, 2011

$50,000

The ridiculous goal, set by our iYERP team at the beginning of the year was to surpass $30,000 for 2010.  The numbers in 2009 were enough to make you scratch your head – $21,000…from recycling metal. How in the world could we top 2009? And what made us think that we could do better & top $30,000?

Well…

Our iYERP partners and the amazing crew associated with the John William Jackson Fund, led by Action Jackson, kicked it into overdrive, strike that, ludicruous speed and recycled enough metal to generate $50,716.00 for 2010.

How about that for a down economy?

The credit goes to everyone in Idaho that has embraced the idea that we can “scrap for Idaho youth”.  We can work together to seperate metal waste at construction sites, our homes, our offices & generate opportunities for kids with a 1-dollar at a time, 1-pound at a time approach.

Thank you iYERP parthners!!  And let’s get geared up for 2011!

Recycling – September 2010

October 6th, 2010

Ridiculous – Amazing – Incredible – How the?

These are appropriate responses for the September recycling numbers…  We raised $8117.65 in one month alone!!!!

yeah, that’s right – $8117.65!!!!

Bill “Action” Jackson & our fantastic IYERP partners continue to deliver beyond imagination.  That brings our year total to $35,942.77, exploding past our 2010 goal of $30,000 in just 9 months.

As “Action” says, “we haven’t even scratched the surface”… this is a sign of great things to come for Idaho youth.
